A winter wedding at Old Metropolitan Hall

I’d never photographed a wedding & engagement session with the same couple in under 48 hours before, but everything was kind of unusual in March 2020. Hiking to Humpback Rocks with these two and then celebrating with them two days later was the best note I could possibly head in to a long break from weddings on. I was amazed by how much grace Toni + John handled all of the chaos with. Hanging out with these two and their friends as they got ready to say their vows, you would never have known anything was unusual - we were all just laughing and having a great time.

I’ve always been looking forward to the day that I’d get a chance to document a wedding at Old Metropolitan Hall. It’s one of the only dedicated venues right on the downtown mall and just feels beautiful and cozy inside, perfect for the more intimate 75-100 person weddings that I love photographing so much. It was a beautiful space for a celebration on this slightly drizzly early March Saturday and totally lived up to the hype.

After their ceremony, we wandered around some iconic Cville spots for portraits as spring just started to bloom, laughing the whole way. The rain mostly held off, but we got a couple drops to play around in under clear umbrellas. We headed back indoors to some very emotional toasts, and then got right down to partying.

Very grateful to have had such an amazing wedding with such wonderful people to photograph before such a lengthy break.
